By The Sea

Introduction

Messinia_by_the_sea

With 140 km of coastline embraced by a crystal sea, the chief characteristic of the Messinian coasts is the deep Messinian gulf on the one side and the Ionian sea on the other. However, the biggest attractions of this part of Greece are the towns and villages at the seaside. There are beautiful landscapes and well-preserved monuments around, and also crystalline Ionian and Mediterranean sea waters. Towns seem to grow out from the rocks and lay next to the sea. Moreover, there is a real Greek atmosphere of southern towns and villages that haven?t been spoiled by the crowds of people from all over the world.

Messinia by the sea is a region where the blue sky, the sun and the sea join in one. You will find here hospitable, helpful and proud people and you will taste great Mediterranean food.

Starting from Kalamata go to Koroni, Methoni or Pylos (for more information click on the castle trip), and see amazing castles or go to Agios Andreas, Finikounda, Gialova, Voidokoilia or Kyparissa and find extraordinary beaches.
